How I Work
Serving the whole horse
Ensuring a healthy and happy horse is a team effort! A holistic approach to horse care is vital for short and long-term successful horse-keeping. I strive to take a whole-horse view when providing hoof care and discuss my observations regularly with clients. From physical limitations/stiffness, hoof wear patterns, gait abnormalities, body condition, performance and more, I’ve found we’re not only able to support healthy hooves and movement by evaluating these topics, but we’re also able serve the horse in a greater capacity.
Team mentality
It takes a village in this industry - we can’t all know everything, so I’m proud to have a local pool of incredibly thoughtful veterinarians, chiropractors, osteopaths and trainers to be able to refer to you to, to help you along you and your horse’s journey. I’ll also collaborate with the trusted professionals already in your circle. Lastly, your observations as an owner are also highly valuable to me - you often know your horse better than anyone and your feedback and contributions are critical to the village efforts.
Least intrusive, minimally aversive
In all aspects of my profession, I strive to find the least invasive, minimally aversive, and most comprehensive solution for each horse. I do not practice or uphold the use of punishing tools, escalating pressure or cruel handling. I do not offer cursory, “one-size-fits all” services, but do offer my expertise, dedication, and partnership to help us find what will suit your horse and you.
